Kon Tum College organized a scientific workshop

On the afternoon of May 8, 2024, Kon Tum College organized a scientific workshop to report the research results and propose the application of the research topic "Study and application of microalgae for wastewater treatment in aquaculture in Kon Tum Province".
This is a forum for researchers, managers, businesses, and aquaculture institutes in the province to exchange and discuss research findings on the topic, propose practical applications to promote the sustainable development of the aquaculture industry in Kon Tum province through the effective implementation of environmental treatment solutions using microalgae.
The delegates from the Departments, Agencies, relevant units, business, and aquaculture enterprises in the province highly appreciate the practical value and significance of this research. This scientific research has value not only in training and research work but also in aquaculture activities and addressing water pollution issues in the province.

Attending the Workshop were Mr. Doan Trong Duc - Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Kon Tum Province; Mr. Tran Van Chuong - Vice Chairman cum Secretary General - Union of Science and Technology Associations of the province; Representatives from departments: Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Kon Tum Province, Livestock and Veterinary Department, Kon Tum Science and Technology Research, Application and Service Center, Science Management Division - Department of Science and Technology, Agricultural Promotion Center, Agriculture and Rural Development Department in districts.
Representatives from businesses and aquaculture establishments in the province include: Duy Tan Investment and Development Joint Stock Company, Ta Tien Limited Liability Company, Phuong Phong Linh Member Limited Liability Company.
At the school's side, there was the presence of Mr. Le Tri Khai - Principal, Chairman of Science and Technology of the School's Council, Head of the project; Mr. Nguyen Trung Hieu - Vice Rector; Mr. Huynh Van Chung - Vice Rector; representatives from divisions and faculties; teachers from Unit of Animal Husbandry – Veterinary Medicine and Fisheries - Faculty of Economics and Agriculture - Forestry; and members of the project implementation team. In addition, there were representatives from various media agencies in the province in attendance.
The seminar is conducted under the supervision of Mr. Doan Trong Duc - Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Kon Tum Province, and Mr. Le Tri Khai - Rector of Kon Tum College, Chairman of the School's Council for Science and Technology, and Head of the research project.

and support of experts of the Institute of Biotechnology, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.
The research team representative has conducted the report. Research findings: The research team has successfully applied three species of microalgae, Chlorella vulgaris KT2023, Scenedesmus acuminatus KT2023, and Spirulina platensis KT2023, in the treatment of wastewater in aquaculture.

To directly observe the implementing and evaluating process about the research results, the conference delegates visited the microalgae laboratory at the Faculty of Economics and Agriculture - Forestry, exchanged ideas, discussed, and proposed the application of the research topic into practice.
